Conley Transferred To Jupiter; Dayton Transferred To Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that RHP Jordan Conley has been transferred from Jacksonville to Jupiter, retroactive to 8/13. In a corresponding move, LHP Grant Dayton has been transferred from Jupiter to Jacksonville.

Conley heads to Jupiter after appearing in 16 games with Jacksonville in 2012. Conley is 2-3 on the season with a 3.24 ERA and struck out 25 batters while allowing just four walks.

Dayton makes his way to Jacksonville for the first time in his career. In 2011 with Greenboro, Dayton compiled a 7-1 record with a 2.86 ERA and five saves. He was drafted by the Marlins in 11th round of the 2010 draft out of the University of Auburn. In 2012 with Jupiter, Dayton is 2-5 with a 2.10 ERA and 71 strikeouts to 18 walks. He will be assigned a number upon arrival in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The Suns roster remains at the maximum of 25 allowed by the Southern League.
