Cape Breton Eagles News Release
Sydney- The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have announced that 20 year old forward Cory MacIntosh will not be reporting to their 2012 training camp.
The North Sydney native has decided to attend St. Francis Xavier University and participate in their hockey program instead of playing his fourth season in the QMJHL. "Playing in Cape Breton for the last three years have been the best of my life", says MacIntosh, "but with the uncertainty of making the team as a 20 year old, the offer to play for St. FX was too good to pass up". McIntosh played 185 games with the Screaming Eagles, scoring 35 goals and accumulating 92 points over this time.
"We are very happy for Cory and respect his decision", says Screaming Eagles General Manager Pierre Roux. "Cory had two options going into the upcoming season and he showed great maturity by choosing an excellent school and program". With Cory's departure, there are five players competing as 20 year olds for three overage positions on the Eagles roster.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles thank Cory for his contributions over the last three years and wish him the best of luck in the future.
