A video produced by Dunedin Blue Jays Community Relations Coordinator Vince Caffiero has "gone viral" in the past 24 hours, leading to an outpouring of acclaim from baseball fans around North America.
The two minute and thirty second video is an 8-bit recreation of the Blue Jays victory on June 10, 2012 in which they defeated the Clearwater Threshers to secure the FSL North first half division title.
Inspired by Nintendo's RBI baseball, the video is being hailed as "the best promo in years from anyone Jays affiliated," "absolutely outstanding," and "an instant classic and must see for any baseball or NES fan."
The video has been featured locally on dunedin.patch.com, nationally on usataday.com, and Vince has appeared on the Sportsnet 590 The FAN's Baseball Central in Toronto.
