Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks seek to snap their current four-game losing streak as they face the Tacoma Rainiers at 9:05 p.m. central time.

Last Night-- The Rainiers (47-65) had too much offense for the RedHawks to keep pace with as the Rainiers prevailed 7-4. Tacoma struck first in the first inning, scoring on an RBI single by Carlos Peguero. The RedHawks jumped in front in the second, scoring twice, with RBIs by Brad Snyder and Brian Bixler. Tacoma tied it in the third and a Vinnie Catricala solo homer in the fourth put them in the lead. Tacoma put up two more in the fifth, but the combo of Bixler and Snyder pulled the RedHawks within one in the sixth. That's as close as they would get, as the Rainiers scored two in the eighth to help seal the win. Steve Garrison (1-3) earned his first win with the Rainiers, allowing four runs over 5.2 innings. Brian Moran recorded the final four outs for his first save. Making his first Triple-A start, Jake Buchanan (0-1) took the loss, surrendering five runs, seven hits, and four walks over four-plus innings.

Today's Probable Pitchers-- Coming off a stellar team and Triple-A debut, Jose Cisnero looks to help the RedHawks break their current losing skid...On Saturday against Omaha, Cisnero went seven strong innings, allowing just one run (solo HR)...He scattered four hits with two walks and retired the last seven hitters he faced...Including four starts for Double-A Corpus Christi, Cisnero went a perfect 5-0 in five starts in July, posting a 2.41 ERA while holding opponents to a .205 average...He has now won each of his last six starts and is 8-0 over his last nine outings...At the time of his promotion, Cisnero led the Texas League in strikeouts (116), ranked second in wins (nine) and ninth in ERA (3.40)...He is second among Astros farmhands with 119 strikeouts and is one of three pitchers with at least 10 wins...Tacoma's Andrew Carraway makes the start after being activated off the DL...Carraway has not pitched since July 20 due to a lat strain...In what's been an up-and-down campaign with Tacoma, Carraway allowed nine runs and 12 hits over four innings in Colorado Springs in his last start...He began this season with Double-A Jackson, going 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA over seven starts...Since joining the Rainiers, seven of his 13 starts have been quality starts, and he is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA over six starts at Cheney Stadium.

Recent Road Woes-- The RedHawks have tied a season high by dropping five straight road games. (May 3-7 was the other instance.) The team has been outscored 54-22 and has led for one inning during the skid. They had been 27-24 on the road before the streak began.

Thirsty for Wins-- The RedHawks are 14-5 on Thursdays this season--the most wins for any day of the week.

Angel in the Infield-- Angel Sanchez is 7-for-16 his last three games. On Tuesday he collected four hits in a game for the first time April 12, 2011 while playing for the Astros (vs. CHC). Since the end of May, Sanchez has hit .352 (51-for-145).

Shuck-Tacular-- J.B. Shuck has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games, batting .457 (21-for-46).

Uncle Buck-- Over his last 11 games, Travis Buck is hitting .457 (16-for-35) with seven RBIs. He's had a multi-hit game in six of his last nine starts. In four games as DH, Buck is hitting .571 (8-for-14).

High "Snydes"-- Brad Snyder has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games including each of his last nine starts. Over his last seven games he's hitting .385 (10-for-26) and, additionally, he's hit hit six homers over his last 14 contests.

The Extra Bat-- Tonight is the sixth of 16 straight as well as 20 of 24 games where the RedHawks will play with a designated hitter. The RedHawks are 12-16 in games using a DH, and collectively, team DH's this season have hit .289 with seven homers and 26 RBIs.

Bullied By The 'Pen-- Going back to last Friday against Iowa, the RedHawks have been held scoreless over 16.2 consecutive innings and have notched just 11 hits against opposing bullpens.

Mound Troubles-- The pitching staff has allowed at least five runs in 16 of the last 18 games as well as in 18 of 21 games since the break. The staff ERA over the last 18 games is 7.24 (121 ER/150.1 IP). They've allowed four runs in an inning in 9 of the last 13 games, occurring a total of 13 times.

Wrong Kind of History-- The RedHawks are on pace to post the highest ERA in franchise history. The previous high was 4.81 in 2005. The team has never finished worse than 11th in the league in ERA, but their current 5.34 mark is not only 15th in the PCL, but the second-highest in all of the Minors, trailing only Tacoma (5.35).

Against the Rainiers-- This is the only series of the season between these foes...Last season they split a four game set in Oklahoma City, May 10-13...It was an offensive series, with each team averaging at least six runs per game...Both of the position players currently on the RedHawks who played against Tacoma last year hit well...J.B. Shuck went 5-for-12 and Brandon Barnes went 5-for-15 with a homer...Expect more fireworks, as these two teams own the two highest ERAs all of the Minors...During their last trip to Tacoma in 2010, the RedHawks went 2-1 with one game canceled due to rain.
