Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent import punt returner Tony Logan to a practice roster agreement, the club announced today.
Logan graduated from the University of Maryland in 2011 and was used as a punt returner and backup wide receiver. As a senior, Logan led the ACC and ranked third nationally averaging 18.1 yards per return. He ranks third in school history and 16th in the ACC record books with 805 punt return yards over the course of his four-year career.
Logan's cousin, Kyle Wilson, played for Boise State and was the 29th overall draft pick in 2010 by the New York Jets.
Eskimo General Manger Eric Tillman says, "Tony had a very productive career returning punts in the highly respected Atlantic Coast Conference and he comes highly recommended by Ed Hervey. We attempted to sign Tony right after the NFL draft, but he accepted an opportunity to attend mini-camp with the St. Louis Rams. Now, that Tony has agreed to join our practice roster, our coaches are eager to see him compete."
