Squires Transferred To Jupiter; Pertusati Transferred To Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that RHP Chris Squires has been transferred from Jacksonville to Jupiter. In a corresponding move, OF Danny Pertusati has been transferred from Jupiter to Jacksonville and RHP Jon Link has been added to the roster.

Squires heads back to Jupiter without making an appearance. Squires posted a 0-1 record with a 7.11 ERA with 13 strikeouts, seven walks and one save throughout the 2012 season in Jacksonville.

Pertusati comes to Jacksonville for the first time in his career. Pertusati hit .232 with two home runs and 11 RBI for Jupiter in 2012. In 2011, Pertusati hit .207 with 2 home runs and 26 RBI with Jupiter. Pertusati will wear jersey No. 2 for the Suns.

Link played in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, for the Albuquerque Isotopes, where he posted a 2-2 record, a 4.24 ERA, walked 32, struck out 63 and recorded 11 saves in 54 appearances. Link was acquired as a minor league free agent on July 9, 2012 and will wear jersey No. 37 for the Suns.

The Suns roster is now at the maximum of 25 allowed by the Southern League.
