Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

Some fans got to the park early Tuesday to get player autographs, others came early for happy hour specials, and some were there early to see NBA star and Pensacola native, Reggie Evans of the Brooklyn Nets, throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Regardless, fans were resilient and stuck out a 42-minute rain delay to watch the Wahoos wrap up their four-game homestand.

The game turned into a seesaw match, and eventually Jacksonville came away with the 5-4 win in 10 innings. The Wahoos remain in first place, but now share the top spot in the South with Montgomery.

After an off-day on Wednesday, the Blue Wahoos will travel to Mobile to open a four-game series with the BayBears. You can catch all the action of the Bay-to-Bay series on 1450 ESPN Pensacola while the team is away.

ROSTER UPDATE:

The Cincinnati Reds have promoted outfielder Donald Lutz to Pensacola. Lutz, 23, hit 17 home runs with Advanced-A Bakersfield in 63 games. He was hitting .265 with 51 RBI at the time of his promotion. He is a member of the Reds 40-man roster.

Lutz was born in Watertown, New York but moved to Germany when he was a year old. He now lives in Regensburg, Germany and has played for the German national team. The Reds signed him out of Germany in 2007.

To make room for Lutz, OF Stephen Hunt has been transferred back to Bakersfield.
