Chasers Defeat Zephyrs 8-3, Win Series

PAPILLION, Nebraska - Wil Myers drilled a three run home run and veteran Doug Davis delivered six scoreless innings as Omaha defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 8-3 in front of 6,584 at Werner Park.

The Chasers scored four runs in the fourth inning to open the scoring. Johnny Giavotella walked, stole a base and scored on a Clint Robinson single. Tony Abreu and David Lough singled to load the bases for Omaha. Anthony Seratelli drilled a two RBI base hit to right-field. Z's starter Alex Sanabia exited the game with an injury, an apparent oblique strain.

Sanabia worked 3.1 innings, allowed four runs on 5 hits and struck-out four batters in the defeat. He falls to 6-6 on the year.

Omaha added a run in the sixth inning on a David Lough triple and a Seratelli sacrifice fly.

Omaha starter Doug Davis pitched six innings allowed no runs on two hits and earned the victory.

The Zephyrs got back in the game in the seventh when Matt Dominguez hammered a three run home run to left field and the Z's cut the Omaha lead to 5-3.

The Chasers scored three in the bottom of the 7th inning on a Wil Myers home run and Omaha wins the series two games to one. Omaha picked up its league leading 51st win of the season.
