Rock Cats Get Twins Outfield Prospect Arcia

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, has received OF Oswaldo Arcia (pronounced ar-SEE-ya) from Class-A Ft. Myers of the Florida State League. The Venezuela native is listed by Baseball America as the #5 prospect in the entire Twins' organization and will be playing in the Eastern League for the first time. He is on the Twins 40-man Major League Roster and was named to the FSL All-Star Team this season. The Twins have also promoted RHP Daniel Sattler from Ft. Myers to New Britain and released OF Mark Dolenc from the organization. Both Arcia and Sattler will be in uniform tonight as the Rock Cats begin a 7-game road trip in Altoona, PA.
Arcia, 21, was batting .309 with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 7 home runs and 31 RBI in 51 games for the Miracle in the FSL this season. He ranked 7th in the league in batting and 3rd on the circuit with a .517 slugging percentage. He had four 4-hit games and an 8 game hitting streak at high-A this season. Arcia was named the MVP of the Rookie-Level Appalachian League in 2010, batting .375 with 14 home runs and 51 RBI for the Elizabethton Twins. He signed with the Twins as a free agent in 2007.
Sattler, 28, was 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA with a save in three relief outings with the Miracle this season. He joined the Twins system in early June after beginning the season pitching for the Independent League, St. Paul Saints (MN). He has spent time in the Rangers, Athletics and Angels systems prior to this season, reaching Double-A reaching Midland and Arkansas in the Texas League. Sattler was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 44th round in 2006 out of Purdue University.
Dolenc, 27, spent the past three seasons with the Rock Cats batting .251 with 11 home runs and 100 RBI in 294 career games at New Britain. He was batting .168 with a homer and 3 RBI in 46 games with Rock Cats in 2012.
The Rock Cats roster is now at the Eastern League maximum 25 active players.
The Rock Cats return home from their current road trip on Tuesday, June 26 and will face the Eastern League Eastern Division leading New York Yankees affiliate, the Trenton Thunder as part of an 8-game homestand. Tickets are available by calling 860-224-8383.
