66ers Match Season High 12 Runs in Win

The 66ers continued their winning ways with an offensive explosion as Inland Empire (31-34) beat the San Jose Giants (34-31) 12-8 Monday night at San Manuel Stadium. Highlights included Randal Grichuk's three-run blast to left center, his 5th home run of the year, and C.J. Cron's four RBI effort, the fifth time this season he's reached that plateau.

Every single 66ers batter in the starting lineup reached base either by a hit or a walk. six different players contributed at least one RBI with first baseman C.J. Cron leading the way. He is the California League leader with 53 RBIs. 66ers catcher Jett Bandy had a big day as well, going 3 for 5 with a two RBI triple.

66ers starter Lay Batista pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run, and striking out four while walking one to get the win, his 3rd of the year. Rehabbing big league reliever, Dan Runzler started the game and gave up an unearned run and was charged with the loss. San Jose Giants all-star Jack Snodgrass was shelled by the 66ers for six runs in three innings.

The 66ers continue their 3 game set against the Giants tomorrow at 7:05 pm. It will be Turn Back the Clock Tuesday as select ballpark prices will reflect those of the era of the San Bernardino Spirit.
