Indians Announce "15 Days of Opening Day" Countdown

May 31, 2012 - Northwest League (NWL) Spokane Indians

Spokane, WA -The Spokane Indians announced today the creation of their first ever "15 Days of Opening Day" promotion. This fun-filled campaign will begin on Friday, June 1st, with giveaways, mascot appearances, and community events every day leading up to the season opener on June 15th against the Vancouver Canadians at Avista Stadium.

"This is a great chance to help build excitement as we get closer to Opening Night," said Director of Public Relations, Bud Bareither. "We have the best fans in the Northwest League and this is another way for us to show them our appreciation."

The two week long promotion will feature seven OTTO the Mascot appearances throughout the city, four online contests, and various other events designed to get fans ready for Opening Day.

The "15 Days of Opening Day" begins on Friday, June 1st when single game tickets will go on sale to the general public. The next day features an OTTO appearance at Dairy Queen (917 E. Wellesley) from noon-1 p.m. where he will be handing out ice cream cones. The first weekend of the promotion will wrap up on Sunday with an online contest where fans will have the chance to win an autographed baseball of former Indian and L.A. Dodger star Steve Garvey.

Week two of the promotion includes an OTTO appearance at Yoke's Fresh Market (9329 E. Montgomery) as well as an online contest that features autographed memorabilia of former Spokane Indians players.

The final week includes the Spokane Indians Player Welcome Party at the Max at Mirabeau, OTTO appearances, and Opening Night festivities highlighted by the post-game fireworks show.

The Spokane Indians are the Short Season Class "A" affiliate for the Texas Rangers. The Indians open the 2012 season on Friday, June 15th against the Vancouver Canadians with Opening Night Fireworks and AAA Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Les Schwab Tires, KREM-2 TV, 93.7 The Mountain, and SportsRadio 1510 KGA.
