AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians announced on Sunday that LHP T.J. McFarland has been promoted to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. In a corresponding move, RHP Steven Wright has been activated from the disabled list and will start Sunday afternoon's game against the Erie SeaWolves at 1:35.

McFarland, 22, has been the ace of the Aeros pitching staff, going 8-2, 2.69 ERA in 10 starts this season. His eight wins are the most of any pitcher in the Eastern League. He had won six consecutive starts, prior to Friday's loss at Erie. He was named the Indians Minor League Player of the Week on May 13th, and was named the Eastern League's Pitcher of the Week, May 20th.

McFarland, a 6-foot-3 lefty, was the Indians' 4th round selection in the 2007 draft. This will be McFarland's first action at the Triple-A level.

Wright, 27, has been sidelined since suffering a broken toe on his left foot after being struck by a line drive in a game against Harrisburg on May 11th. He was placed on the DL on May 15th. Wright has started seven games this season, going 3-2, with a 1.87 ERA. A knuckleball pitcher, Wright has fanned 38 batters in 43 1/3 innings. He tossed a nine-inning complete game shutout at Bowie, May 6th.

Wright was Cleveland's second-round selection in the 2006 draft out of the University of Hawaii.

The Aeros roster now stands at 25 players.

Following games at Erie on Sunday and Monday, the Aeros will return to Canal Park for a three-game homestand against Bowie, beginning Tuesday evening at 7:05. All Aeros games are broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at 330-253-5151.
