SUGAR LAND, Texas - Home runs from Ben Harrison and Drew Locke were not enough to help the Sugar Land Skeeters (12-15) comeback effort against the Lancaster Barnstormers (15-13) Friday night in front of 7255 fans at Constellation Field.

The Barnstormers took an early lead, 1-0, off starting pitcher Ryan McKeller (1-3) with one run in the first inning, but the Skeeters bounced back in the bottom of the second.

After a ground out to second from Josh Pressley, Harrison stepped up to bat. Barnstormers pitcher Alan Johnson (2-3) had not given up a home run all year until he met the bat of the designated-hitter. Harrison drilled a pitch deep to left for his eighth home run of the season to tie the game, 1-1. Two batter after Harrison reached base. First, Octavio Martinez was hit by a pitch for the third time in the series to take first and Iggy Suarez reached on an error from shortstop Jamie Pedroza that should have ended the inning on a double-play. However, with two on and one out, Locke crushed a ball off Johnson to the same part of the park Harrison hit his home run to give Sugar Land the lead, 4-1.

The Barnstormers drew back to within a run in the fifth with a two-run single from first baseman Terry Tiffee, 4-3. Michael Nix (0-3) came into the game during the seventh inning for some work to keep the Barnstormers at bay, but after a one-two-three seventh, trouble came in the eighth.

With the score 5-3 after an insurance run for the Skeeters in the sixth, Blake Gailen singled into right with one out, and Brad Boyer tripled deep down the left field line to again cut the lead to one, 5-4. Emerson Frostad doubled in the tying run from third, 5-5, and center fielder Adam Godwin singled him in during the following at-bat to make the score 6-5.

Tim Hamulack made his third appearance against the Skeeters to close down the game earning his sixth save of the season after striking out Ofilio Castro with two out and one on.
