FRISCO, Texas (Sunday, May 6) - FC Dallas dropped a 2-0 decision to the Colorado Rapids today at FC Dallas Stadium after being reduced to nine men following ejections in the 34th and 36th minutes.

Daniel Hernandez was the first player to receive a red card after picking up his second caution in the 34th minute of play. Just two minutes later, FC Dallas forward Blas Perez was ejected from the match after colliding with Colorado defender Drew Moor. The short-handed FC Dallas side kept the match level thanks in part to the play of veteran goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, who finished the first half with three saves.

FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman brought on recently acquired defensive midfielder James Marcelin and defender Hernan Pertuz at halftime. The defensive reinforcements held until the 61st minute when Colorado sent a series of crosses into the area.

The first cross was won by the FC Dallas defense, but the second trickled to the feet of Brian Mullen at the back post. Mullen took a touch before chipping a pass to the center of the six-yard box, where Castrillon rose above the pack to head a shot past Hartman, giving Colorado a 1-0 lead.

The Rapids gained a 2-0 advantage in the 74th minute, when Mullen received the ball deep in FC Dallas territory and knocked a centering pass inside to Martin Rivero. The Colorado midfielder took a touch to control the ball before spinning and burying a shot into the far side-netting from 15 yards away.

Hartman played well throughout the match. He picking up seven saves on the night.
