Hershey Bears News Release

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club forced a decisive Game Five in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last week with two thrilling home wins. On Wednesday, Ryan Potulny scored an overtime power play goal to give HERSHEY a 4-3 decision that also featured goals by D.J. King, Cameron Schilling and Kyle Greentree. In another must-win Game Four on Friday, Boyd Kane scored two of the BEARS' three power play goals with Schilling notching the other, Chris Bourque put up three points and Dany Sabourin stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 4-1 win that sent the series back to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. The Penguins scored twice within seven seconds in the middle period, and despite Potulny striking 23 seconds into the third, the BEARS could not muster more offense and saw the season end in a well-played 2-1 setback. Following today's break-up day, some players are expected to join the Washington Capitals as they continue in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Preparations continue for the HERSHEY BEARS' 75th AHL campaign, with season tickets currently on sale. The season will be highlighted by the Capital Blue Cross AHL Outdoor Classic at HERSHEYPARK Stadium, played against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, January 20, 2013.
