
Saginaw Falls to London 5-3

On Saturday night the Spirit traveled back to The Dow Event Center to take on the London Knights in game six of the series. The Spirit would fall to the Knights by a score of 5-3. Scoring for Spirit was spread out amongst three players: Josh Shalla, Michael Fine and Terry Trafford.
The Knights would score first in the opening period. 4:07 in the period, Tommy Hughes took a long shot from the blueline that would slide past Spirit goalie, Jake Paterson. Vladislav Namestnikov and Jared Knight would get credit for the assist on the goal. 12:06 in the period Jared Knight would land himself a goal of his own to make the score 2-0 over Spirit. Matt Rupert and Ryan Rupert would get credit for the assist on the goal.
3:23 in the second period, Josh Shalla would score on a power play to get the Spirit on the board. Dalton Young and Michael Fine would assist the goal. Shortly thereafter, London's Austin Watson would answer back to put London back up by two goals. Olli Maatta and Jarred Tinordi would assist the goal. 8:45 in the period, Michael Fine would score a short-handed goal over London's goalie Michael Houser. Jake Ringuette would get credit for the assist on the goal. Later in the period, at the 11:51 mark, Tinordi would score shorthanded extending the London lead. One minute later, Terry Trafford would score on a wrist shot from the hash marks to put the Spirit back within one goal. Heading into the third period, the score would be 4-3.
The final period of play would not see a goal until 13:41 into the third period, when Olli Maatta would score from the point for London. Ryan Rupert and Tyler Ferry would get credit for the assist on the goal. Saginaw would pull their goaltender with two minutes remaining but was unable to score, as the London Knights would defeat the Saginaw Spirit by the score of 5-3 taking their best of seven playoff series 4-2.
