Trainer LeBlanc Named to Team Canada's Training Staff for U-18s

Swift Current, SK - Hockey Canada announced that longtime Swift Current Bronco Head Athletic Trainer, Jamie LeBlanc has been named Equipment Manager for Canada's National Men's Under-18 Team for the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship from April 12th -22nd in Brno and Znojmo, Czech Republic.

"It is always an honour to wear the maple leaf on your chest and represent Canada at an international level," says LeBlanc.

LeBlanc has been Head Athletic Trainer with the Swift Current Broncos for seven seasons. Prior to his time in Swift Current, he worked for the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League. LeBlanc was also the Equipment Manager for Team WHL at the 2011 Subway Super Series, Team West at the 2005 and 2009 World Under-17 Challenge along with the 2009 Western Canada Under-16 Challenge Cup.

Canada is a two-time gold medallist at the world championship, winning in 2003 and 2008. It finished fourth at the 2011 IIHF World Under-18 Championship in Crimmitschau and Dresden, Germany.

The 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship opens for Canada on April 12 in Brno when it takes on Denmark. The Canadians will also face the Czech Republic, Finland and the United States in the preliminary round.
