Southland Insurance High School Shootout
Published on March 19, 2012 under Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the champions of this season's high school shootout, the General Amherst Bulldogs.
General Amherst stacked up an incredible 205 points, 51 points more than the 2nd place team. Another amazing fact is that General Amherst took part in the very first shootout of the season, setting the bar very high back on November 17th, 2011.
You could tell General Amherst had the eye of the tiger from the very start with all of their shooters finding the back of the net while Goalie Mitchell Topliffe was stellar in net stopping all of the shooters he faced.
General Amherst participants receive an Easton one-piece hockey stick and will have their name engraved on the Windsor Spitfires High School Hockey Shootout Trophy.
This was the first time in the history of the shootout that High School Girls hockey participated. Six girls teams participated this season, a number that is expected to grow for next season. The Windsor Spitfires, along with Southland Insurance, were proud to showcase and promote local High School girls hockey!
