
San Antonio Jr. Rampage to Compete for State Championship Title

SAN ANTONIO (March 8, 2012) - Two San Antonio Jr. Rampage teams will compete in a best-of-three series for the Dallas Stars Cup this weekend with the Championship game to be played in San Antonio at Northwoods Ice Center.
Players and coaches from both teams will be available to media at practice tonight (Thursday) from 7-8 p.m. at Northwoods Ice Center.
The Jr. Rampage Squirt Silver team is the reigning Winter Classic Champions and will compete against the Texas Jr. Stars in a best-of-three series starting this Friday at 7:45 p.m. at Northcross Mall in Austin. The two teams will return to San Antonio on Sunday for Game 2 of the series at 7:45 a.m. at Northwoods Ice Center. If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Sunday at 3:45 p.m. at Northwoods Ice Center.
The Jr. Rampage Pee Wee A team is the reigning Texas Shootout Champions and will compete against the undefeated Oklahoma City Oil Kings in a best-of-three series in Dallas this weekend. The teams will face off on Saturday for Game 1 of the series starting at 9:45 a.m. at Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas. Game 2 will be played at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Game 3 (if necessary) will be played at 11 a.m. on Sunday at Valley Ranch.
Each team will compete to be the Dallas Stars Cup Champions in their respective age category. The Jr. Rampage Squirt Silver Team consists of boys and girls ages 9-10 and the Jr. Rampage Pee Wee A team consists of boys and girls ages 11-12.
Jr. Rampage is a non-profit organization within San Antonio Youth Hockey Foundation (SAYHA) founded to support and promote youth ice hockey in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. The purpose of Jr. Rampage is to inspire youth participation in amateur ice hockey, regardless of race, creed, or gender and to bring area players closer together through, and instruct them in the fundamentals of the sport of ice hockey.
