Heat Vs Aeros Game Preview

February 17, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat continue a four game stretch against divisional foes tonight with their first of two against the Houston Aeros. The pair of West Division rivals are jockeying for position in the Western Conference playoff picture with the Aeros currently seeded fourth while the Heat sit in the eighth and final playoff position.

Hugh Jessiman will make his Heat debut tonight after being acquired by the club earlier in the week as a free agent signing. Jessiman had played with the Lake Erie Monsters for 43 games this season, scoring 20 goals and adding five assists. The Monsters and Jessiman couldn't agree on a Standard Player Contract (SPC) after he played on back-to-back Professional Try-Outs (PTO), which made the right-winger available to sign as a free agent.

Also set to bolster the Heat line-up this weekend is the return of Greg Nemisz, who has been out since January 11th after sustaining a heavy open-ice hit at center ice in a loss to the Texas Stars. Nemisz has enjoyed a strong start to his sophomore campaign of pro hockey posting 17 points in his first 18 games of the season and earning two brief call-ups by the Calgary Flames prior to Christmas.

Tonight and tomorrow's games can be heard on Country 107.1 FM in the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland. The 30-minute pre-game show begins at 6:30, with puck-drop at 7:00 PM. The game can also be heard on the web on theAHL.com, Country 107.1's website, and is available via the Rogers Radio App on your wireless device.
