Stingrays Claim Shelast off Waivers

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has claimed forward Tyler Shelast off waivers from the Florida Everblades.

Shelast, 27, skated in 18 total games this season with the Stockton Thunder, Trenton Titans and Florida Everblades recording one goal and three assists for four points. Last season, the Kelowna, British Columbia, native appeared in 53 contests with the Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League where was fourth on the team in goals (19) and assists (22). Shelast has also seen action in the American Hockey League dressing for the Iowa Stars, Hamilton Bulldogs and Texas Stars from 2007-10 grabbing 10 points (5g, 5a) in 60 games. Prior to turning pro, the 6-for-1, 202-pound forward attended Michigan Tech totaling 87 points (51g, 36a) in 151 games.
