DUBUQUE, Iowa - An impressive offensive weekend brought league-wide recognition to Dubuque forward Jono Davis on Monday. The USHL announced that Davis was named the CCM Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with forward Austin Cangelosi of the Youngstown Phantoms.

Davis registered the first Fighting Saints hat trick of the season on Friday night, providing all of the Dubuque offense in the 5-3 loss to the Phantoms. On Saturday, he scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal and chipped in an assist as the Fighting Saints set a season-high with six goals in a 6-1 win over the Indiana Ice.

"My confidence is high lately, I've been putting the puck in the net, and I know that I can play in this league," Davis said. "(Max) Gardiner, (Milos) Bubela, and I are moving the puck well - hopefully we can keep that up going forward."

Davis, who was acquired from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in a November trade, has flourished in Dubuque, scoring ten goals and adding five assists in twenty games since coming over from the RoughRiders. On the entire season, Davis has scored eleven goals and contributed seven assists in thirty-three games between the two teams.

"I think he has combined the skill that we know that he has with more will," said Fighting Saints Head Coach Jim Montgomery. "His habits have gotten a lot better, and because of that, he's getting more chances."

Davis and the Fighting Saints will play Wednesday night in Dubuque, hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers for the only time this regular season. The team will travel to play in Cedar Rapids on Friday, and return home to match up against the RoughRiders on Saturday night.
