
Great Lakes League All Star Game to be Played at All Pro Freight Stadium

Toledo, Ohio - The Lake Erie Monarchs and Stark County Terriers announced today that the Great Lakes League All Star Game will be played at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio. The Monarchs and Terriers are co-hosts of the 2012 event to be held on Wednesday July 11th. All Pro Freight Stadium opened in 2009 and is the home of the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League. The Stadium, located in Avon, a western suburb of Cleveland, is also the host of the 2012 Mid American Conference Baseball Tournament. The game will be the 25th playing of the Great Lakes League All Star Classic. "We are very excited to hold our All Star event in Avon and appreciate the Lake Erie Crushers welcoming College Baseball fans from all over the United States to All Pro Freight Stadium." said Lake Erie Monarchs President Jim DeSana. "It is a fantastic stadium and centrally located for our fans in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky." Said DeSana.
The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League is based in Columbus, Ohio and has 11 teams. It began operation in 1987. The League is sanctioned and supported by Major League Baseball and counts over 800 former Great Lakes players who have been drafted by MLB.
