The Ice Flyers have headed west on I-10 yet again to take on the Louisiana IceGators. This will be the sixth matchup of the season between the two teams with the Flyers holding the 3-2 season series lead. The Ice Flyers have come out on top in the previous matchups that stayed close including 5-4, 3-2, and 3-1 wins. Louisiana's two wins have been 5-2 and 8-3.
Louisiana's home record isn't too impressive at 8-6-1 and the Ice Flyers' road record currently sits at 6-8-2. If Louisiana wins this game in regulation they will have sole possession of 4th place in the SPHL.

Team Scope:
PENSACOLA - The IceFlyers managed a split in their only two games last week with a 4-2 win at the Mississippi Surge and a tough 2-1 loss at home against the Surge. Adam Ward has a 4-8-1 record, a 4.11 goals against average, and a .857 save percentage while Jeff Rose has a combined record with the Ice Flyers and Fayetteville of 4-7-1, 4.03 GAA, and a 0.857 SV%. Jordan Chong leads the team in scoring with 32 points. Matthew Robertson and Andrew Harrison are the team leaders in goals with 14 while Chong, Tyler Soehner, and Ryan Salvis lead in assists with 19 each.
The Ice Flyers' power play is currently 4th best in the league at 18.24% with 29 power play goals. The Ice Flyers have only given up one shorthanded goal all season. Pensacola's penalty kill is also 4th at 82.5% with 21 power play goals against while managing to score 3 shorthanded goals.
This is the first of four games for the Ice Flyers this week as the team will play Fayetteville on Thursday and Huntsville on Friday and Saturday before ending their week.
LOUISIANA- The IceGators lost all three of their games last week and will be looking to get back to winning when Pensacola comes to town. The Gators have Dan Earles and B.J. O'Brien between the pipes. Earles has a record of 8-4-0, a 3.30 GAA, and a 0.888 SV% while O'Brien has a record of 7-7-2, a 3.01 GAA, and a 0.897 SV%. The IceGators' leading scorer is Jason Hill who has 57 points. Hill and Robert Short share the team lead in goals with 17 while Hill leads the team with 40 assists.
Louisiana has the league's best power play unit at 20.33% with 37 goals on 182 power plays but they have given up 5 shorthanded goals. The IceGators' penalty kill is 5th in the league at 80.92% with 29 power play goals against. The IceGators have only managed 2 shorthanded goals.
Following this game with the Ice Flyers, the IceGators will host the Mississippi Surge on Friday and the Mississippi RiverKings on Saturday.
