
RailCats Final Four Fan Fest March 31

GARY, Ind. - The Madness of RailCats baseball and college basketball will collide at U. S. Steel Yard on Saturday, March 31 at the RailCats Final Four Fan Fest. The fourth annual event will include festivities from 2-5 p.m. followed by a chili cook-off and watching the college basketball Final Four games from 5 to 9, with an opportunity for fans to win prizes during the games.
Baseball fans throughout Northwest Indiana have flocked to Fan Fest the past three years to celebrate RailCats baseball and this year's event will deliver even more excitement with a basketball twist. Final Four Fan Fest will include giveaways, contests, autograph sessions, baseball clinics with RailCats players and coaches, the always-popular question-and-answer sessions, ballpark tours, Hall of History and much more!
There will also be appearances by three-time Manager of the Year Greg Tagert along with select RailCats players and special guests. Fans who are present during the Final Four games will have the chance to win one of 20 awesome prizes, including a flat screen TV.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at the discounted price of $12 for adults, $10 for season ticket holders and $7 for kids 12 and under. Tickets will cost $15 for adults, $12 for season ticket holders and $10 for kids on the day of the event.
"We have fans ask us every day about Fan Fest because they are already excited for next season and they love the opportunity to connect with the RailCats and interact with players and coaches past and present," RailCats President and General Manager Kevin Spudic said. "This year we are adding in the March Madness theme which will make it a great way for the fans to enjoy a day-long celebration of RailCats baseball and another Indiana favorite: basketball."
In the past three years, Fan Fest has included appearances from former RailCats stars including Tanner Townsend, Tim Byrdak and Tony Cogan. Former major leaguer and Gary native Wallace Johnson and former Chicago White Sox pitcher Tommy John have been special guests in previous years.

The RailCats will open the 2012 season on May 17, with the Home Opener on May 25 at U.S. Steel Yard.
