Falcons Set to Host Devils Tonight

January 21, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL) Springfield Falcons

The Springfield Falcons and Albany Devils meet for the fourth time this season when they drop the puck at the MassMutual Center Saturday night starting at 7 pm. The Falcons are 2-1-0-0 against the Devils this year with Springfield beating Albany in the last head-to-head matchup back on December 17 by a score of 2-1 in the shootout. It was a marathon 11 round shootout that evening with the Falcons coming out on top.

The Falcons look to get back on the winning track tonight after dropping a 5-3 decision Friday night in Portland against the Pirates. Springfield currently has a record of 18-18-1-2 as they play game number 40 tonight. The Falcons remain in the hunt in the very competitive Northeast Division as they sit three points behind Albany and Bridgeport, five points behind Adirondack and six points in back of Connecticut.

The Devils also look to snap a two-game losing streak tonight. Albany dropped a 3-2 decision Friday night at Adirondack. Albany has a record of 17-15-5-3 on the season.
