
Winther Named to CHL Top Prospects Game

Prince Albert SK - The Canadian Hockey League has announced that 17-year-old forward Mike Winther has been selected to participate in the 2012 CHL Top Prospects Game in Kelowna, British Columbia on February 1, 2012.
Winther is currently tied for 2nd in goals among first time draft eligible players in the Western Hockey League, with a team-leading 22 markers on the season. His 12 power play goals are the 4th best in the league, and tops among all draft eligible players. The Trochu, Alberta product also leads all first time eligible players with 3 shorthanded goals, which ties him for 6th in the WHL.
The Raiders 1st round pick, 6th overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam draft was recently ranked 26th among North American skaters by National Hockey League Central Scouting and 44th overall by the International Scouting Service. After scoring 9 goals and 1 assist in 61 games during his rookie season, the Raiders sophomore has already recorded 39 points in 45 contests this season.
