Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Fighting Saints will try to get back to their winning ways tonight, facing off against the Sioux Falls Stampede at 6:05 p.m. It will be the only meeting of the two teams in Dubuque during the regular season, and a rematch of the Western Conference Finals from one year ago, which the Fighting Saints won in four games. With their loss to Green Bay on Wednesday night, the Fighting Saints dropped into fourth place in the Eastern Conference, though they are only two standings points out of sole possession of second place.
The Stampede have struggled to score throughout the season, averaging a league-worst 2.18 goals per game. The strength for the Stampede has been their goaltending, as *Stephon Williams* has posted the league's third-lowest goals against average, checking in at 2.33 to go along with a league-best .925 save percentage. The Stampede have played .500 hockey at home, but have a road record of just 3-6-1.
The Fighting Saints will conclude their stretch of three home games in four days on Saturday with a matchup against Fargo at 6:05 p.m. The Fighting Saints homestand of six games will close on Friday, January 6, when the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders travel to the Key City for a 7:35 p.m. matchup.
Pregame starts at 6:40 on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 and SuperHits106.com.
