Indiana Mad Ants News Release

Fort Wayne, IN (December 27, 2011) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that they have reacquired Darnell Lazare and Chris Hunter. Lazare was recently waived from the Indiana Pacers training camp and Hunter from the New York Knicks training camp. The team has also acquired 6'10" returning center, Sean Sonderleiter. Sonderleiter last played with the Ants during the 2009-10 season.

Before Lazare left for the Pacers training camp he was averaging 19.3 points and 8 rebounds per game. Hunter has yet to play in a game for the Ants this season due to injury.

During the 2009-10 season Sonderleiter averaged 11 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Ants. He spent the 2010-11 season in Germany and has been recovering from an eye surgery since this summer.

The Mad Ants have waived Jabril Banks and Antonio Smith to make room for the returners. They have also waived Sadiel Rojas due to injury.

Last week, Walker Russell Jr., Cameron Jones, and Ron Howard all returned from NBA training camps.

Lazare, Hunter, and Sonderleiter are expected to play on Wednesday night as the Mad Ants travel to Erie Pennsylvania to take on the BayHawks.
