The Canton Charge have signed guard Kyle Gibson and forward Dante Milligan to contracts, General Manager Wes Wilcox announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the contract were not released. From now until one week after the commencement of NBA camps, NBA D-League teams will be permitted to carry a maximum of 12 players -- after which point they'll shrink back to 10.
Gibson, 24, played four years at Louisiana Tech (2006-10). In 114 college games, Gibson averaged 14.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 31.3 minutes per game. His senior season, he averaged 18.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 34.4 minutes per game while earning WAC All-Defensive Team and All-WAC Second Team honors.
Dante Milligan, 27, spent last season playing for Hangzhou Yong Tong, of the Chinese league. In 18 games, Milligan averaged 23.3 points on .524 shooting, 14.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 40.1 minutes per game. In 2010, Milligan played in eight games for Heilongjiang Zhaozhou Feng Shen of the Chinese league averaging 30.1 points on .541 shooting, 16.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.5 blocks in 41.3 minutes per game. He spent the 2009-10 season with the Springfield Armor of the NBADL, playing in 42 games and averaging 7.8 points on .493 shooting, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game. Milligan played three years at University of Massachusetts and in 90 career games, he averaged 5.6 points on .571 shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
