Barons Players Getting in the Christmas Spirit by Decorating Trees

Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons players are getting into the Christmas spirit and are showing off their decorative side to raise funds for the Barons Buddies program with Special Olympics.
Last month, each player was given a small Christmas tree. The instructions for them were simple: decorate the tree and make it unique to their tastes or experiences. Barons fans will be able to see their handiwork beginning at this Friday's game against the San Antonio Rampage. The decorated trees will be on display on the upper concourse where fans can place bids on the trees.
Nine trees will be available for bids at the game this Friday and nine will be available for bids at the game next Friday. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Barons Buddies Program. The Barons Buddies Program allows a player to adopt a Special Olympics athlete for the season. The team has a series of outings planned with the athletes from Special Olympics and their families throughout the season.
Head Coach Todd Nelson and his squad return to game action at home this Friday against the San Antonio Rampage, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. Faceoff is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Tickets start at $10 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets including the Cox Convention Center box office.
