Fighting Saints Will Host Lancers Tonight

DUBUQUE, Iowa - An overtime win over Cedar Rapids on Wednesday night got the holiday weekend off to a thrilling start for the Fighting Saints, who hope to have their success continue on home ice tonight against Omaha. The Lancers will make their only trip of the season to Dubuque on Saturday, and do so after having defeated the Fighting Saints in a 5-4 overtime tilt at the beginning of the month.

That November 5th win for the Lancers in Nebraska was one of the few times this season that the Fighting Saints have failed to stifle the offensive attack of the opposition. Dubuque ranks second in the USHL, allowing just 2.38 goals per game. The Lancers enter tonight's game in third place in the Western conference with a 9-7-1 record on the season. This comes despite having been outscored 53-46 by the opposition over the course of the year.

The Fighting Saints will wrap up the holiday weekend, and a stretch of three games in four days, with a trip to Des Moines tomorrow night. They will follow this week's slate of games up with a series with Cedar Rapids next weekend, playing on the road on Friday, and at the Mystique Community Ice Center on Saturday night.
