Chicago Wolves News Release

MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves pulled within one halfway through the third period but could not find the equalizer and dropped a 4-2 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry matchup at the Bradley Center Friday night.

Forwards Darren Haydar and Jordan Schroeder each scored power-play goals for Chicago (0-2-0-1).

Milwaukee (2-0-0-0) opened scoring 2:54 into the game with its first of three power-play goals. Center Chris Mueller held the puck below the goal line and slid the puck to right wing Juuso Puustinen in the far circle who ripped a shot past Wolves goaltender Eddie Lack, top-shelf.

The Admirals doubled their lead to 2-0 when center Kyle Wilson's shot was stopped by Lack but the puck slipped through his pads, and right wing Ryan Thang pounced on the loose puck and pushed it into the empty net at 13:01 of the first period.

Haydar got Chicago on the board 1:56 into the second stanza when his pass attempt from the far circle was deflected but the puck bounced right back to his stick and he flicked a quick shot above the shoulder of Milwaukee netminder Jeremy Smith.

Milwaukee regained its two-goal cushion at 4:40 of the third period when a scramble ensued in front of Lack and Mueller poked the loose puck over the line.

Lack (0-1-1) recorded 31 saves on 34 shots.

Chicago cut its deficit to one with a power-play goal at 12:06 of the final frame. Schroeder skated into the Admirals zone and fired a shot from the far boards that beat Smith, five-hole.

Smith (2-0-0) kicked out 21 of 23 shots.

Forward Taylor Beck sealed the win for Milwaukee with an empty net marker with 54 seconds remaining in the game.

The Wolves host Milwaukee in the franchise's 18th home opener, presented by LifeSource, at the Allstate Arena Saturday at 7 p.m.
