LANSING, Mich. - Donald Lutz tied the game in the top of the ninth and Theo Bowe drove home David Vidal in the tenth for the Dayton Dragons (37-17, 71-52) stunning the Lansing Lugnuts (29-24, 67-53) 10-9 on Saturday night at Jackson Field.

The game was back-and-forth the entire way, with the Lugnuts using home runs from Markus Brisker, Oliver Dominguez, and Marcus Knecht, who hit a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning, to build a late two-run lead.

The slam was Knecht's second in as many games after the Lugnuts had gone the first 119 games of the season without a grand slam.

The lead would disappear before the Lugnuts eyes, as reliever Danny Barnes blew just his second save of the season, and Brandon Berl (Loss, 3-5) gave up the RBI single to Bowe that gave Dayton the lead.

Blaine Howell (Win, 3-1) settled down after giving up the four-run seventh to shut the Lugnuts down before handing the ball to Drew Hayes, who picked up his twenty-first save of the season.

Jake Marisnick, Matt Nuzzo, and Dominguez each notched two-hit nights, and Brisker added a 1-for-1 game that included his fifth home run of the year and four walks.

For Dayton, Lutz finished the game 4-for-5, and Ronald Torreyes, Kurtis Muller, and Jefry Sierra each notched two-hit ballgames.

Game two of the four-game series will see the Lugnuts' southpaw Sean Nolin (2-3, 3.79) face off against the Dragons' lefty Tanner Robles (5-3, 5.83) at 2:05 p.m. on a Superhero Day edition of a Kids Day at Cooley Law School Stadium.
