Inland Empire 66ers News Release
San Bernardino, CA- Rancho Cucamonga received some early runs of support and hung on to drop the 66ers, 7-3, evening the four-game series at one apiece.
Manuel Flores pitched six innings but was knocked around for five runs (four earned) on eight hits. The lefty struck out one and didn't walk a man. Ryan Chaffee came on in relief of Flores and allowed a run in his lone inning of work. Kevin Nabors and John Wiedenbauer combined for two scoreless innings following Chaffee.
Kole Calhoun provided the offensive highlight for Inland Empire with his 21st home run of the season in the fourth inning. Calhoun has now reached base safely in 33 consecutive games. David Harris drove in a third run in the ninth inning with a two-out base hit.
For the Quakes, Red Patterson was stellar in seven innings of work. The right hander allowed just the two-run homer by Calhoun while striking out eight and walking just two. Inland Empire will look to clinch at least a split of the series tomorrow behind Cody Evans.
