Gotay HR Gives Z's 5th Consecutive Win

Ruben Gotay drilled a tenth inning solo home run to give the New Orleans Zephyrs to a 6-5 win over the Memphis Redbirds. The win is the Zephyrs fifth consecutive to bring their record to 5-3 for the season. New Orleans starter Dallas Trahern made his first start for the Z's since May of 2009 and pitched 5.1 innings allowing three runs. Trahern is coming off of Tommy John surgery that had him miss all of 2010. The Z's scored four runs in the fourth inning. Mike Cervenak ripped a three run home run to grab a 4-2 lead. Memphis rallied to tie the game with a two RBI triple from Shane Robinson in the seventh inning. Dustin Richardson pitched two scoreless innings and set the stage for Gotay's solo home run. Frank Mata pitched a perfect ninth to earn the save. New Orleans hit a season high three home runs in the game and managed 6 runs on 7 hits.

Game Notes -The Z's added pitcher Dallas Trahern from Class AA Jacksonville and assigned Mark McLemore to Class A Jamestown. The sweep of Memphis is the first since 2008. The Z's are 2-0 in extra inning games and lead the PCL with 4 one run victories.
