
Blakely, Stinson Named NBA D-League Co-Performers of the Month

NEW YORK, March 21, 2011 - Marqus Blakely and Curtis Stinson of the Iowa Energy were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of March 14.
Blakely and Stinson led the Energy to a 2-0 record on the week, helping Iowa clinch the Eastern Conference title. Blakely, a 6-5, 225-pound forward out of Vermont who was in training camp with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaged 29.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. Stinson, a 6-3, 215-pound guard out of Iowa State who played in the 2010 NBA Summer League with the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors, averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 12.5 assists and 2.0 steals.
In Iowa's 109-103 defeat of Sioux Falls on Friday, Stinson had 39 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, while Blakely had 31 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. On Sunday, Blakely shot 10-11 from the floor for 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Stinson added 23 points, 15 assists and six rebounds, leading the Energy past Fort Wayne, 104-97.
This week's honorable mention selections were Austin's Leo Lyons, who averaged 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games; Bakersfield's Trey Johnson, who averaged 34.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in two games; Dakota's Javaris Crittenton, who averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 4.0 steals in two games; Erie's Ivan Johnson, who averaged 27.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists in three games; Fort Wayne's Chris Kramer, who averaged 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.0 steals in three games; Idaho's Luke Babbitt, who, on assignment from Portland, averaged 20.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in three games; New Mexico's Dar Tucker, who averaged 22.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games; Maine's DeShawn Sims, who averaged 24.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games; Reno's Bobby Simmons, who averaged 17.3 points and 12.0 rebounds in three games; Rio Grande Valley's Jon Scheyer, who averaged 21.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in four games; Sioux Falls' Patrick Ewing Jr., who averaged 21.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in four games; Texas' Justin Dentmon, who averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games; and Utah's Brandon Costner, who averaged 21.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games.
