
Goaltender Ford Assigned to South Carolina

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that goaltender Todd Ford has been assigned to the team by the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Ford, 26, appeared in 18 games with the Stingrays this season going 11-6-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. While with the Bears, the Calgary, AB native skated in 13 games earning a 7-4-1 record with a 2.94 GAA and .886 save percentage. Last season, Ford went 18-7-2 with the Stingrays and ranked fifth in the ECHL with a 2.79 goals-against average and second with a .910 save percentage. A third-round draft pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Ford was named the 2010 ECHL Goaltender of the Year, voted a starting goaltender in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game and was selected to the First Team All-ECHL team.
Ford dressed in 15 games in the AHL last season with Texas and Portland, going 7-5-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .920.
