Havoc Splits Two-Game Road Trip

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc split a weekend road trip bringing home a 5-4 win over Mississippi on Friday before falling 3-1 at Columbus on Saturday.
Friday, November 19 -Huntsville 5, Mississippi 4
BILOXI, MS - The Huntsville Havoc got third period goals from Mike MacDonald and Stephen Margeson to break a 3-3 tie and come away with a 5-4 win over the Mississippi Surge Friday night.
Both teams failed to score in the first period before erupting for three goals each in the second.
Huntsville scored first on a Glenn Detulleo powerplay goal just 2:33 into the period. Mississippi responded with back-to-back goals by Matthew Larke and Matt Zultek to grab a 2-1 lead. Mike Carter would tie the game at 2-2 with 6:11 to go in the period.
Margeson would give the Havoc a short-lived 3-2 lead with a powerplay goal with 2:02 left before Zultek tied the game at 3-3 with 1:30 left in the second.
Zultek added his third goal of the night for the Surge with 1:08 left in the game to cut the lead to 5-4.
Dan McWhinney made 36 saves in the win while Mike Brown made 24 in the loss.
Saturday, November 20 - Huntsville 1, Columbus 3
COLUMBUS, GA - Dan McWhinney made 28 saves and only allowed two goals but it wasn't enough as the Huntsville Havoc fell 3-1 to the Columbus Cottonmouths on Saturday night.
Jesse Cole scored two goals for the Cottonmouths, one was an empty-net goal with :02 left in the game. Matt Kinnunen scored with the extra attacker in the first period.
Stephen Margeson scored the only goal for the Havoc in the second period.
Columbus scored one goal with the extra attacker and another on the powerplay while the Havoc finished 0-of-6 with the man advantage.

Saturday, November 27th vs Knoxville - Sharp Communication presents the second annual "Fire and Police Appreciation Night." The Havoc will be honoring all the local fire and police as well as raising money for the charity of choice for the Fire Department. This year all the money raised will go to the Kids to Love Foundation. The Havoc will wear special jerseys and auction them off after the game. A special puck will also be available by making a monetary donation.
