Worcester Sharks Drop Exhibition Opener to Bruins

Marlborough, MA - The Worcester Sharks dropped their first exhibition game in a 4-0 decision to the Providence Bruins at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA on Wednesday night.
Four different goal scorers lit the lamp for the Bruins in a game that featured 69 penalty minutes in front of a nice crowd.
Brandon Gentile, Yannick Riendeau, Antoine Roussel, and Casey Haines scored goals for the Bruins (1-0-0-0) and Matt Dalton made 22 saves and went the distance for Providence in goal.
Carter Hutton made 13 saves for the Sharks (2GA) and Kevin Reiter added 10 saves (2GA) in relief for Worcester.
Andrew Smale, Joe Loprieno, and Garet Hunt all dropped the mitts for Worcester in a game that featured three fights.
Worcester's record fell to 0-1-0-0 in preseason action.
Notes: Three Stars: (3) Brandon Gentile (1-0-1) (2) Yannick Riendeau (1-2-3), (1) Matt Dalton (22 save shutout) ... Providence went 1-for-7 on the power play while Worcester went 0-for-6. Final shots were 27-22 in favor of the Bruins. Joe Loprieno and Matt Irwin were the only Sharks players that were dressed that played for Worcester last season.
The Sharks continue their three game road exhibition game schedule in Springfield on Friday with a 7:30p.m. battle with the Falcons
