Wenatchee Valley Venom To Hold Open Tryouts In East Wenatchee And Tacoma

The Wenatchee Valley Venom Professional Indoor Football Team will be holding two open tryouts next month as the team gears up for a new season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Tryouts will be held on each side of the Cascade Mountains, beginning on Sunday, October 17 at Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee, Washington. The second tryout will be held on Saturday, October 23 at Curtis High School in University Place, near Tacoma, Washington.

Both tryouts will go from 1-4 p.m. with registration starting at 12:30 p.m. The tryouts are open to athletes over the age of 18 who are ready to play at the professional level. Head Coach Brian Smith and his Venom staff will be evaluating players in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard short shuttle, 3-Cone L drill, 225-pound bench press (max reps) and broad jump. Individual one-on-one and agility testing will follow the initial evaluation.

The Venom finished their first season with an 8-6 record that included a six-game winning streak to close out the season. Wenatchee Valley will play a 14-game schedule (to be released in November) during the 2011 IFL season, which runs from February to June. The Venom play their home games at Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee.

Eastmont High School: 955 3rd St. N.E., East Wenatchee, WA 98802. Natural grass surface.

Curtis High School: 8425 40th St. W., University Place, WA 98466. Field Turf.

Cost: $40 for pre-registration, $50 on the day of the event. Payable by cash, credit card, or check.
