Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys first baseman Tyler Townsend has been named Carolina League Player of the Week for games played between August 30th and September 5th. Townsend, who received the same honor last week, went 9-for-21 with a double, two triples, a home run, and five runs batted in during the week. Townsend joins Potomac 1B Tyler Moore and Wilmington LHP Mike Montgomery as the only players to be named Carolina League Player/Pitcher of the Week in consecutive weeks. Townsend began the 2010 campaign in Class-A Delmarva and in his final three games with the Shorebirds prior to his promotion to Frederick, he went 8-for-14 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple, and eight RBI's.

The Keys are headed to the Carolina League Playoffs and tickets are currently on-sale.
