Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders are half way through their Western Hockey League pre-season schedule and will take the coming week to practice and also connect with the public as well as take part in some team building exercises.
Roster Reduced to 25
Following their 5-0 setback to the Saskatoon Blades in Martensville Friday night, Raider Coach and General Manager Bruno Campese made some roster moves to reduce the number of players to 25 still with the team.
15 year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey and 15 year-old forward Luke Mahura, who are only eligible to dress for 5 games this season were returned to their respective teams in Calgary and St.Albert respectively.
Other players re-assigned included 17 year-old defenceman Matt Waseylenko, 16 year-old forward Chance Braid, 16 year old goaltender Brenden Fiebelkorn and 17 year-old forward TJ Constant. They all are pursuing Junior A league possibilities.
The Raiders now have 2 goaltenders, 9 defencemen and 14 forwards on their roster with the next pre-season action Thursday, September 16th when they host Swift Current at 7:00 PM at the Art Hauser Centre.
12th Annual Golf Classic Tomorrow
Over 30 teams are registered in the 12th Annual Raider Golf Classic teeing off with a 1:00 PM shot gun start tomorrow at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course.
A number of Raider alumni will play in the event as the team continues to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. One of the high lights will be on Hole #12 where all golfers will tee it up against Dustin Cameron, Raider Captain the past two seasons, for a chance to win a night in the Raider Corporate Suite for a regular season game.
Raiderhockey.com to get new look Wednesday
After a one week delay from the original projected launch date, the new look raiderhockey.com website will be on-line tomorrow. The launch is in conjunction with all teams across the Canadian Hockey League how will have all of their websites integrated through MRX.
Raider Retreat on the Weekend
The Raiders will take a break from the grind of training camp this coming weekend to head to Blue Mountain Adventure Centre in the North Battleford area for some team building exercises Friday and Saturday.
