Philadelphia Union News Release

Chester, Pa. (September 7, 2010) - Philadelphia Union (5-11-6, 21 points) return to MLS action this weekend when they face well known Eastern Conference contender Chicago Fire (6-7-7, 25 points) on Saturday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. EST. The match can be seen live on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Español.

Coming off a disappointing 1-1 tie against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, September 4, the Union are seeking points to position themselves at a higher place of the Eastern Conference table. The Fire have a busy week ahead of them going into Saturday's match against Philadelphia, as they host Toronto FC on Wednesday after a late loss to LA Galaxy last weekend. The Union and the Fire met earlier this season at Chicago's Toyota Park on June 5, with the host team topping Peter Nowak's squad 2-1, despite a stoppage time goal by Danny Mwanga.

The match will be a bit of a homecoming for Union midfielder Justin Mapp and Team Manager Nowak as both previously played for the Fire. Mapp competed for the Fire for eight and a half years before being traded to Philadelphia on July 26th. Nowak joined the Chicago squad for their inaugural season in 1998, leading the team to a MLS Championship in their first year of existence.
