
Sound Tigers Agree to Terms with Four Prospects

BRIDGEPORT, CONN (August 5, 2010) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have agreed to terms on one-year, two-way (AHL/ECHL) contracts with defensemen Matt Duffy and Corey Syvret, as well as forwards Justin Taylor and Mike Sellitto.
Duffy, 24, spent last season with the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League, totaling 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 52 games. The Windham, ME native also played in 11 games with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, tallying five points (one goal, four assists). Duffy, a 6'2, 201 lbs. defenseman, made his professional debut with Rochester at the end of the 2008-09 season, following the completion of his four-year collegiate career at the University of Maine.
Syvret, 21, patrolled the blue line for the OHL's Guelph Storm last year. A native of Millgrove, Ont., Syvret notched 30 points (three goals, 27 assists) in 66 games during the 2009-10 campaign. The 6'2, 195 lbs. defenseman made his professional debut with Rochester last season, and tallied one assist in four games with the Amerks. The Florida Panthers selected Syvret in the sixth round (181st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Taylor, 21, played all four of his OHL seasons with his hometown London Knights. The 5'11, 180 lbs. center finished third on the team in points last season with 62 (33 goals, 29 assists), and compiled 202 points (102 goals, 100 assists) in 231 career OHL games. The Washington Capitals selected Taylor in the Sixth Round (180th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Sellitto, 22, participated in the 2010 New York Islanders Mini Camp as a camp invite. The Weston, Fla. native spent his last three seasons playing at Florida Gulf Coast University of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
Last season, the 5'10, 170 lbs. forward tallied 18 points (eight goals and 10 assists) for the Eagles in 24 games.
