Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever will wear pink uniforms on Friday, August 6 when the Atlanta Dream visits Conseco Fieldhouse on Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Community Health Network. Sporting special-order pink uniforms produced by adidas, which will be auctioned for charity immediately after the game, the Fever hosts the Dream in a matchup pitting teams currently vying for first place in the WNBA's Eastern Conference.
The first 3,000 fans to Friday's game will receive a replica pink Fever jersey courtesy of Community Health Network. Community Health Network will also conduct a pregame health fair on the Main Concourse. A special Pink Party ticket package for only $25 includes a game ticket plus food and beverages (including beer and wine). Tipoff is 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m.
To help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer services, research and early detection, the Fever will trade its customary red, blue and gold colors for the pink uniforms which mirror the Fever's regular home and road design. The pink jerseys say "Indiana" in red across the jersey front, with names and numbers also stitched in red, with white trim.
Immediately following the game, the Fever will conduct its first-ever Breast Health Awareness Live Auction with every player's game-worn pink jersey among many autographed items up for bid to benefit the Community Breast Health Fund. The entire Fever team and coach Lin Dunn will assist with auction proceedings that include pink game-worn shoes, autographed pink basketballs and t-shirts; a complimentary suite to a Fever playoff game; and courtside and Legends tickets for Indiana Pacers games.
Following its first visit to the WNBA Finals and three consecutive sellout crowds during the 2009 WNBA Playoffs, the Indiana Fever is eager to pursue a sixth straight playoffs appearance and a return trip to the Finals in 2010. The Fever entertains the Washington Mystics on Friday, July 30 (7:00 p.m.) for Veolia Water Back To School Night. Next week's games include a date with the New York Liberty on Tuesday, August 3 (7:00 p.m.) and Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Community Health Network on Friday, August 6 (7:00 p.m.) when the Fever hosts the Atlanta Dream. Season and single-game tickets are available at FeverBasketball.com or by calling (317) 917-2500.
