Pawtucket Red Sox News Release

4 time All Star Mike Lowell was terrific again for the PawSox on Wednesday night, going 3-4 with a single, double and a home run. He knocked in three runs in the 8-5 loss at Toledo. In his rehab stint, which is presumably over, the 2007 World Series MVP hit .500 with 4 home runs and 10 rbi. Robert Coello (2-5) took the loss, allowing 6 runs in 5 innings. Chad Paronto worked 2 shutout innings of relief and Michael Bowden allowed 3 runs in the eighth, the first he has surrendered as a reliever. Dusty Brown had a great game, hitting a home run, and throwing out 2 would-be base stealers.

The PawSox are 1-5 on this current swing through Ohio as the pitchers are allowing 7.8 runs/game on the trip. Jeff Frazier hit a pair of homers for Toledo (#22 and #23). Casper Wells also had a round tripper for the Hens. The series continues on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Felix Doubront (3-3, 3.94) faces L.J. Gagnier (4-4, 3.64).
