
Toros Announce New Dance Team Director

Austin, TX July 14, 2010 - Supporting the NBA Development League's mission to development talent at every level, the Austin Toros today announced that Farrah Daya has been selected as Director of the 2010-11 Capital City Dancers. Daya danced with the Capital City Dancers from 2006-2009. The Capital City Dancers are the official dance team of the Toros and perform at every home game. Dance team members also participate in community activities year round.
"The Capital City Dancers are some of the best and most well-known dancers in the NBA Development League and the team director is a very prestigious position in the industry," said Peter Lubell, Toros COO. "As a dance team alumnus, we're excited to have Farrah rejoin the organization and look forward to her leading a first-class squad into the 2010-11 season."
Daya has danced since high school where she was a member of her high school dance team. After graduation, she joined several independent dance groups and developed herself in multiple styles including jazz and hip hop. She danced three years with the Toros, and spent last year concentrating on choreography.
"I am very excited to be the new 2010-11 Director for the Capital City Dancers," said Daya. "I look forward to the new challenges, opportunities, and experiences I will encounter, and most importantly cultivating a great dance team this year."
Tryouts for the 2010-11 Capital City Dance team will be announced later this summer. Interested dancers can email dance@austintoros.com to receive additional information.
