Outlaws Knuckler Yoshida Supports Habitat Women Build Project

(Chico, CA. May 24th, 2010) Japanese female knuckleball sensation Eri Yoshida made a public appearance on Monday night in conjunction with "Girl Power Night", brought to you by Habitat Women Build at a local home building project site in Chico.

In front of about 100 adoring fans, Yoshida was at ease signing pictures of herself and baseball, along with posing for pictures with everyone. Dressed in blue jeans, blue shirt and pink high-tops, the crowd cheered her arrival to the project site and many lingered afterwards to snap a photo with the "Knuckle Princess".

"I am honored to be asked to participate in this worthy cause," said Yoshida. "It's nice to see everyone here taking care of one another."

Outlaws GM and former Los Angeles Dodger Mike Marshall, along with the Outlaws mascot Rascal, was in attendance with Yoshida during the appearance, which ran from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm at the Habitat Build Project in Habitat Greens Subdivision on the corner of 16th St and D Street.

Habitat Women Build will be sponsoring "Girl Power Night" at Nettleton Stadium on Saturday May 29th at 7:05 pm as Eri Yoshida is scheduled to start to start the game. With her first pitch she will be making history by becoming the first woman to pitch professionally in two countries.

The Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat houses. Women-built projects provide an opportunity for women to learn construction in a supportive environment, and to nurture, recruit, and train women to build and maintain simple, decent,healthy, and affordable homes.

The Outlaws open their 2010 home schedule on Wednesday May 26th at 6:35 pm against Tijuana.
