
Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee Fines FC Dallas Midfielder Bruno Guarda

NEW YORK (May 20, 2010) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today fined FC Dallas midfielder Bruno Guarda $750 for kicking a ball into the crowd and making an offensive gesture toward fans during halftime of the FC Dallas versus Philadelphia Union game on Saturday, May 15 at Lincoln Financial Field.
FC Dallas has decided to issue the player a one-game suspension, which will be served during their next game, a match against the LA Galaxy on Thursday, May 20.
While Guarda did not appear in the game, he was a member of the 18-man roster for the Dallas match against Philadelphia. At halftime, Guarda kicked a ball into the stands and made an offensive gesture toward the crowd. The action was not seen by the officiating crew and Guarda did not receive any discipline at the match. After reviewing the incident, the MLS Disciplinary Committee issued a $750 fine for the offense.
Fines collected are donated to MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer's community outreach initiative dedicated to addressing important social issues affecting young people and serves as a platform for both League and club philanthropic programs.
